Postpartum Doula Service
Aside from new babies, new mothers must be the most beautiful creatures on earth. ~ TerriGuillemets
We live in the jet-age of a mobile society. So many of us end up bringing the new baby home from hospital or birth center with little to no support. We arrive home with more questions than answers.
Your postpartum doula is a person who is trained and experienced in the care of not only the new baby but the postpartum family unit.
Your postpartum doula will do light housekeeping and meal/snack prep. She’ll help with breastfeeding challenges, diaper changes and those first few nervous baths for the newborn. She can run errands and walk pet. Your postpartum doula can allow you to have a shower, a nap or sit outside in the sun and fresh air to recharge your “batteries”, all the while knowing your baby’s needs are being met.
She isn’t someone there to take the place of mom and dad but someone who will empower the brand new parent to feel confident as she learns without being overwhelmed.
New mothers who are physically and emotionally supported in the first few days of being home are far less likely to suffer from postpartum depression.
Dalai Mama was trained through Bates in 1999 and since that time has worked with 100+ families. She has experience with special needs babies and multiples.
Postpartum doula fees are $45 per hour. Overnight rates are discounted to $300 for 8 hours service.
